A very good friend passed away today. He was our neighbor. He became part of our family. He took care of us. Would give our daughter small treasure boxes (cigar boxes), share his wine with us and tell us stories of his youth. He had the greenest thumb and taught me so much about keeping plants. He grew roses ,vegetables and loved his cactus....reminded him of the desert and the heat.
He'd be outside watering all of our gardens while smoking a cigar. I will miss that scent riding the air....after a days work, he would sit outside in a lawn chair with a beer and enjoy the evening. Summers were the best. We would all sit outside with him....talk about politics, the flowers, watch the kids play in the front lawn.
Ken....you will be missed. We love you. xoxo 01-13-2010

jennymann > I made this, for our Haunted Halloween Carnival Party......It was a bit o' work but TOTALLY worth it.
It was the Grand Entrance...the sound of clowns laughing and carousel music rode the air....it was spooky for sure!

jennymann > Can I tell you how much fun she is!?!? I am ever so lucky.....

We were out one day shopping. I was hunting for a shirt and Miss Vanessa was checking out the accessories. She comes walking up with this little hat on her head. So, yeah...I couldnt resist. I bought it for her. But I remember playin dress up with the old hats my mom would pick up at yard sales for a quarter....THIS particular fashion accessory was $6.00....which is about as much as my mother would have resold the yard sale one at the antique shop she had a booth in. It was also a lesson in fashion history for Vanessa that day ;) what goes around eventually finds it way back....especially the really cool things.....like this hat.

So she model her new hat for me in front of our Halloween decorations....

A card for the grandparents ; ) ha!
